I use Comcast in Utah. They have a system of using the MAC address of the computer to make things work.   It fine unless you change computers. Shutting the router off, waiting fro 10 minutes then plugging the router in will look again at new computer and set it's MAC address.

To use more than one computer from the same Comcast Modem you need to install a router or a wireless router. Comcast will look to the router for the MAC address and the rest of the computers will look to the router and hey will al work.

Mahalo XXXXX XXXXX truly appreciate your help. Finally, I get a straight
forward answer. The only other information that would help, is what
router do you suggest. The dell laptop has 1505 wireless-N-mini card?
I do accept your anser, just need this last little help.

Thank you for your payment.

I have had personal experience with Linksys and Apple routers they have both been excellent. There are also great routers from Netgear, D-Link and others.
