i was changing my settings on my monitor and immediately it

i was changing my settings on my monitor and immediately it started blinking on and off going from a blue screen to show my desk top. I did this once before awhile ago and was able to get it back t where it was but this time I wasn't successful. All it does no is go from blue screen to desktop

You can boot and reset the Parameter RAM;

Restart and after your hear the startup boing press and hold all keys Command-Option-P-R
Let it boing a few time until you let go of the keys.

That should reset your monitor settings.

Because it goes from screen to screen I think you have other problems. Check your cable. If you have a video card, check to see that it is seated correctly. You might have a video card failing.

i did what you suggested and checked everything and it stilldoes the same thing

I think you must have a hardware problem. I would take it to an Apple Dealer.
