Do you have your 10.3 install disks? Since you can still get into OS9 it is obviously not a hard drive crash, and you should do a clean reinstall of your OSX installation. If you need help with that, please let me know. (None of your data should be affected, provided you do the installation right.

No, I cannot get into OS 9 OR OS X. When I start up I get the flashing ? folder and then cannot start up from any CD. I have done the clean install a month ago and that worked but today I cannot start up from a CD. Is there any way to do that other than putting it in and restarting holding down the C button? Still need an answer. Nancy

What iMac is it? G3, G4, or G5? And what disk or disks are you trying to boot it up to? Did it boot to one of those cds before? You may be dealing with a failed logic board.

What Customers are Saying:

Hi John, Thank you for your expertise and, more important, for your kindness because they make me, almost, look forward to my next computer problem. After the next problem comes, I'll be delighted to correspond again with you. I'm told that I excel at programing. But system administration has never been one of my talents. So it's great to have an expert to rely on when the computer decides to stump me. God bless, Bill
