can one change an exe file and make it work on a mac?
Absolutely not. The .exe file is specifically a windows file and will never work on a mac without either Virtual Pc, Parallells, or VMware, or another windows emulator. It's just a completely different language. This is the reason the vast majority of viruses (which are frequently .exe files) will do absolutely nothing on a mac.
