I am trying to run a 2nd display from my macbook .   The 2nd display shows the background image from the laptop but won't "mirror" anything else.   I have tried system preferences "show display" but that failed. What should I try next? Thank you for any help you can give me.
Go to system preferences, then to displays.
Do you see a tab that says Arrangement?
If you do, click it and select Mirror Displays.
