Problem printing from eMac: although both printers are found in the Printer List (when using Printer Browser) whenever try to add them get the dreaded -9672 error. HP Jet Direct Socket + Lexmark 4076-Gimp Print v5.0.0-beta2

Have your installed the latest HP AIO (4.0)? This apparently breaks printing on Macs over the Airport Extreme. Unfortunately, from what I've read uninstalling it won't help.
You can try bypassing the HP drivers (which aren't compatible with the Airport Extreme) and use the CUPS (common Unix Printing System) drivers instead. Look here for a complete step by step guide to doing this.

I hope this solves your problem. If it does, please click the accept button. If it doesn't then let me know and I'll keep digging. I'll be offline soon and back on tomorrow;.

What Customers are Saying:

Hi John, Thank you for your expertise and, more important, for your kindness because they make me, almost, look forward to my next computer problem. After the next problem comes, I'll be delighted to correspond again with you. I'm told that I excel at programing. But system administration has never been one of my talents. So it's great to have an expert to rely on when the computer decides to stump me. God bless, Bill
