what type of mouse are you using? Is it the trackpad or an external mouse? If it is an external mouse what type is it and is it wireless or wired?

wireless ,i removed it, it doesn't work on the touchpad either, i think it has to do with folder options

removing mouse appears to have helped but files are copied not moved

Click on the Apple Menu and select System Preferences...

Click on Keyboard & Mouse

Click the Trackpad tab and check the boxes Clicking and also Dragging.
