I have Mac OSX Version 10.3.9 and use Mail Version 1.3.11.

Resolved Question:

I have Mac OSX Version 10.3.9 and use Mail Version 1.3.11. Yesterday clicking on Mail in my dock would not open it. I could not close Mac down because I could not close Mail. Selecting Hard Drive and clicking on Mall gets this message: Volume for Mail cannot be found. Insert the volume for mail and wait for it to appear on the desktop then try again. How do I do this?

Try doing a hard shutdown by holding down the power button for 5 seconds.

Restart the computer and see if Mail responds, if not let me know and I will dig deeper into your problem.
