Resolved Question:

I have a Lacie back-up drive and an OSX 10.4.11. Mini Mac, and I would like to back up everything that is new since the last back-up. When I try, I get dialogue boxes I cannot understand. Can you give me the correct sequence? Thank you very much.

What you need to do is upgrade your Mac Mini to OSX 10.5 Leopard, it has a program called Time Machine that does exactly what you want it to do.

To do a similar thing with OS X Tiger is to use Déjà Vu.

It allows you to save time by backing up only the files that have changed since the last backup. After Déjà Vu performs your initial backup, only files which are new or which have been changed will be copied during subsequent backups.
