I am afraid my 2003 Lexus GX 470 might have a similar issue

Customer Question

Hi. I am afraid my 2003 Lexus GX 470 might have a similar issue as this post. https://www.justanswer.com/lexus/7zhec-lexus-gs300-experiencing-loud-screech-noise-behind.html.In the mornings, at times (not always), it will make kind of a screeching sound and then I can hear some pump type sounds. it can go on for 10 to 30 seconds. I was actually able to record the sound this morning. I have not heard it do it once the car has been warmed up.is it possibly a fluid issue vs mechanical issue?

fluid wouldnt cause a screeching noise but is the sound in the same location as the post you presented?

I took the cover off this morning and could hear it from the mbc area so think that is it. It only did it 2 times this morning. Yesterday it went on for about 1 minute between the screech sound and then a pumping sound. So I guess the question is at what point do I replace it....how long can I live with it? Things seem fine once it is done doing its thing.

they generally last a very long time before the need replacing. they will throw a code when they definitely have an issue until then its more of an annoyance of the noise when cold is all.

those both will not read abs codes. they are strictly for smog related codes that are in engine modules not abs modules. but when and if you see an abs light on with the vsc and trac light then you know there is a code in that system. and most likely it will that part that has failed.
