Customer Question

won't start
JA: Have you checked the battery, particularly the terminal connections? Are they corroded?
Customer: someone tried to jump start it and that didn't work In the past there was a problem with the alarm going off and the car being unable to start I just never locked the car with the key after this
JA: What is the model/year of your Lexus?
Customer: 1997 Lexus LS 400
JA: Are you fixing your LS 400 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: To give you the full story, some intruder got into my car and left the car door open which I believe drained the battery but a friend tried to jump start it but that didn't work Either the battery is completely dead and needs to be replaced
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: or the alarm system was tripped and has to be reset

Hi Im David, you need to check the battery voltage with a meter. if its not 12.5 then it needs charged. once its charged to 12.5 volts with the charger off it should stay at 12.5 volts. if it drops steadily. you need a battery.
