We are debating on flushing the transmission, I don't know

Customer Question

we are debating on flushing the transmission,
JA: When was your transmission fluid last checked?
Customer: I don't know anything about the prior history but it is a ls430 2003 WITH ABOUT 130K MILES
JA: What is the make/model of your car?
Customer: the fluid looks like it has never been changed I was told not to flush it at the transmission place becuase the gunk is what is holding it together
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: It shifts ok but it takes time to shift when it warms up it is easy to shift wthis would be the first thing we will or will not try related to the transmission
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: does this cost money? I just saw a chat window

Hello I will help,

It used to be that you didn't want to flush a high mileage transmission but that was when you only expected to get 100000 miles out of one. While Toyota does not require that it be flushed during its life , you are at the mileage that it would bebenificial to do a fluid exchange with fresh Toyota brand fluid. Do not allow anyone to use one size fits all fluid, you may pay a little extra for the service to use fluid from Toyota it is worth it.

Please let me know if you have further questions

Thank you
