Is the check engine light on when this happens?
Have you been able to test for lack of spark at all?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
No the check engine light isn't on. I have spark at the plugs. After the car sits for awhile it starts
Expert:  Mike V. replied 11 months ago.

Ok, thanks for the info.

Does the car ever stall on you or is it simply you turn it off and it won't restart right away?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
It never stalls out. you turn the key off go into store a when you return it will turn over but will not start

I think you could have a problem with the mass air flow sensor.

If the sensor is reading wrong, then it's going to cause a bad fuel mixture. This could prevent the car from starting. Especially since you have spark and no check engine light. It could be and indication the sensor is failing. Sometimes you can unplug the mass air flow sensor, then it will use a default setting. If you unplug it and the car fires right up, then you know the sensor is causing the problem and should be replaced.

The maf sensor is the one mounted in the air work between the throttle body and the air filter.

Give this test a try and let me know.
