2008 Lexus RX 350, ever since the transmission was replaced

Customer Question

2008 Lexus RX 350
JA: Are you fixing your RX yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: ever since the transmission was replaced the vehicle has an intermittent starting problem. Will go a week starting fine and then will not start. Cranks over fine, let sit 5to 10 minutes then it will start
JA: Have you checked the battery, particularly the terminal connections? Are they corroded?
Customer: Brand new battery by dealer. Cables fine
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No. This has stumped mechanics as when they see it it works fine

Hello and welcome to just answer and allowing me to assist you. I may need to ask some questions to get a better picture to help you. Is this transmission new or used and was it a complete unit? DID YOU HAVE THIS PROBLEM BEFORE OR JUST AFTER THE REPLACEMENT?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Transmission rebuilt - did not have problems prior to rebuild

thanx for that info.I.m just wondering if the shift position sensor got damaged or not set right. If you can be patient this is what you can try, the next time you have a problem starting it wiggle the gear selecter while your trying and see if that helps.

That has been checked by mechanic

Have tried that and also starting in Neutral. Still didn't work

The only other thing I can think of doing is for the tech to meticulously go over all the wiring and connections that would come into play in that job.
