2008 LS460 VSC light stays on and check engine light is on.

Customer Question

2008 LS460 VSC light stays on and check engine light is on. They are not blinking. Message says see your dealer. Car will not start but if you keep trying several times the car will start. The vsc light and check engine light stay on and are not blinking.
JA: Does the light stay on, or does it blink?
Customer: Just stays on, it does not blink at any time.
JA: What is the model of your '08 Lexus?
Customer: LS460
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: If it is a simple reset I will try to fix it. I tried holding the VSC button down for more than 3 seconds but the VSC light stays on.
JA: The mechanic is ready to answer your vehicle question. Is there anything else you want him to know?
Customer: I think that is it.

When these lights come on and those messages are displayed, they're serious and need to be addressed. There are codes being stored in the computer that need to be read and repaired.

There are no resets for something like this, but the good news is that you are not tied in to going to the dealer. There are many quality shops that can address this for you.

Thanks, Ron
