2007 Lexus RX350...2050,000 miles. Will Not go into Reverse.

Customer Question

2007 Lexus RX350...2050,000 miles. Will Not go into Reverse. Mechanic thinks installing new calipers will fix problem. What do you think
JA: What is the model of your '07 Lexus?
Customer: RX350 Vending # indicates not Japanese
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No hiring a mechanic. The car is in need of some brake work and so he thinks new rotors and brake pads ( I agree) but will caliper fix the problem of not going into reverse. P.S. will go forward
JA: How old are the rotors? How many miles are on the car?
Customer: Approximately, 250,000 miles and I believe the rotors are the originals.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: just want to know is it brake or transmission related.

Hello. Welcome to Just Answer. Please allow me to assist you. Without question, new calipers will have no effect on a vehicle with a no-reverse issue.
