On my 2008 LS460 I have a very loud noise which appears to come from the driver's front wheel area while driving on the freeway. When the noise starts, it will temporarily disappear if I tap the breaks.

Hi. The fact that tapping the brakes makes the noise change for a a little while, you really should have the brakes and the front end checked. Especially the wheel bearings, brake pads and tires. Have you had any of this checked out yet?
