2007 LS 460 brake warning lights stay on. Dealer says

Customer Question

2007 LS 460 brake warning lights stay on. Dealer says actuator needs replacing and part is over $2000. Can I buy this part somewhere else and how do I replace it?
JA: Have you checked the brake fluid? Does the light stay on steady or is it intermittent?
Customer: Brake fluid and brakes are very good per dealer. Lights come on when I touch brake and stay on
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I only went to the Lexus dealer who wanted too much
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: No - they told me it was the actuator

Did the Lexus dealer give you any malfunction code numbers that they would've based their diagnosis onto say the actuator need to be replaced? These codes would been set in the computer. Do you have the vehicle identification number available for the vehicle?
