1999 RX300. 326,000 mi. Bought from a mechanic who went

Customer Question

1999 RX300. 326,000 mi. Bought from a mechanic who went through everything and replaced about everything that cna be replaced, including the knock sensors. The car regularly throws a DEL and knock sensor fault code. It stays for up to about fifty miles then goes away. When it first codes it won't go into OD, but if I restart the engine OD works fine. The CEL stays on for up to 50 miles (about) then goes off. Happens every 2-3 days.
JA: Does the light stay on, or does it blink?
Customer: stays on
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Haven't tried anything so far and about to sell the car to a friend for his daughter. The replacement sensors were purchased at oreilly's.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: Wondering if there is incompatiblilty between aftermarket sensors and ECU

Do you have a voltmeter or ohmmeter and a reasonable knowledge of how to use it or are you just looking for general ideas as to what's going on?
