Customer Question

The hardtop on my SC430 is stuck down
JA: What year is your S430?
Customer: 2004
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I haven't tried much, just made sure everything was normal. The light just stays red and it won't do anything
JA: Just to clarify, what are the exact lights you're talking about?
Customer: The one on the top of the switch
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: that's about it, it initially came up just a tiny bit the stopped

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

The problem could be mechanical, hydraulic or electrical. The module may be disabling the top due to seeing an incorrect input from a microswitch due to a switch or wiring issue. The problem may be mechanical damage and the top is physically unable to move, it could be low on fluid due to a leak, or the pump motor itself may have failed.

Do you hear any noise while the button is pressed to raise the top?
