Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If the key will not turn the most common cause would be a stuck tumbler in the lock cylinder. You may be able to get it to break free at least temporarily.

Spray some penetrating oil directly into the lock cylinder. Insert the key and run it in and out quickly a few times, repeat the process.

Then insert the key fully and give it a few sharp taps on the end. This will often jar loose a stuck tumbler and allow the key to turn again.
