Lexus es300 year 2000 rear brake pads are too big. The old

Lexus es300 year 2000 rear brake pads are too big. The old pads are Toyota and I can't figure out what model. Please help or what am I doing wrong

Are the brackets rusty? The brackets can actually rust and swell causing the pads not to fit. You can remove bracket shims and chip away rust scale to get them to fit.

No sir, no rust. Piston is fully flush with caliper and the new aftermarket seems way too thick. I was wondering if and how much thinner( I think that's how you say it.haha) this pa544-we is brand new

Ok so the pads actually fit in the bracket, just the caliper will not go over the two?

Different expert here. make sure that you have the inserts in the piston lined up with the tabs on the back of the pads so that they seat correctly
