It's alot. Is that where this is? I'm in California. My
my mother filed a law suite against a care home where my grandmother was for allowing her toes to turn black and completely rot off and fall off... not only that.. maggots where hatching out of her foot.. in 2016... in 2018 my mother was in a head on collision with a large commercial truck and was taken to the hospital where... they yelled at me and my dad to get her stuff out of there... that they didn't want her there.. that she was only there seeking drugs... and completely stopped her morphine, Vicodin, and Valium the doctor had prescribed for a long time.... in three days my mother went from being talking and alert... to non responsive... and sadly... slipped into a coma.. she spent months in a coma finally waking up and was acting like a new born baby... the lawyer came and helped me sign paperwork to be a POA in case anything happened to my dad... my dad started another law suit with the same attorney for my moms car accident and the way she was treated at the hospital... the trauma doctor said... if only they would have sent her to us 3 days ago... she most likely would not be in this condition... so while my mom was making little bitty improvements... my dad got cancer and died ... I became POA over both law suites ... I moved my mom out of the trauma care when she could finally breath on her own so she could be more closer to home.. so then the law suit for my grandmother finally happens.. I go ahead and settle for 215 thousand dollars... we were supposed to get the payment with in 6 weeks.... I promised my mom I would bring her home with the money.. because we need a better home and equipment to take care of her... it's been I think around 8 months now... so I called and asked.. why is it taking so long... they said a Medicare lean.. I asked how much? They said 3700.00. I thought great.. and asked them to just pay it and I will except the 211,300.00 so I can bring my mom home... now... after being told I was signing paperwork so that they can get a lean and at the time.. I didn't know it was for such a small amount... I signed it... because they said they were trying to not may Medicare very little if anything at all.... again... today.. I asked some major questions in an e-mail... and got a call back voice mail saying that my grandmother s law suite was a wrongful death... and that under the law... Medicare is not in titled to a dime....and that I signed a wrongful death paper.... these people have sent me so much paperwork to sign without fully explaining anything... thinking that hey had my and my family's best interest at heart... I signed and returned all paperwork as soon as it was sent.... so now my mother in the care home who can't walk... or even feed herself... has come down with COVID-19... that's another subject fir a law suite... Because I found out on accident a month and three days after... because I was supposed to take her to get brain scans the next day to see how much brain damage had been done... they first told me when I called to ask them what time I should pick her up.. that her doctor visit was canceled because she was still showing symptoms... symptoms of what I asked? And the nurse said... oh... you didn't know? And I said know what? Then she put me on hold for a while and cane back and said... I had to check on the computer that I can even tell you. I am the POA. I am the daughter... I am the one that brings in 880.00 a month for her to be there... that fact that she had gotten COVID-19 a month and three days without them telling me is crazy.... ok... now back to the lawyer... the lawyer called me and told me they had just got another 100 thousand for my mother from the insurance company... the one for my mom... I new about that payment over a year ago... I thought it went to my mothers bills... it turns out from what I can see.. they had been holding it this whole time.. and had me sign more paperwork for them to fight the 67 thousand dollar lean Medicare has on the law suit.. fi… read more
