I am in a lot of the stress. My situation at work it's not the best. I don't know, I don't understand what is really happening or why. Three years ago my evaluation was fine. I worked very hard and everything looks to be fine. At the end of the year, I was told that there were not enough students for Spanish, so that they will have to split my position between two schools. The thing is that, they sent me to another's school, River Bend, half of time. On Summer Seneca's AP contacted me because apparently more students signed up for Spanish and they needed me to cover an extra block. I told them that it was fine as long as they consider me (like not having extra duties). When I went back that year in September, the blocks that used to be mine were already there, there were 6 blocks for my class. Even we had more, like Elhs, the other Spanish teacher had 7 classes and I had 4 classes there and 3 at River Bend. They even asked a teacher from Dominion to cover another Spanish block. The school that they sent me was scary I was afraid for me. I was informed that the other Spanish teacher, a person that I know that will not do something wrong, was accused of something that I know she didn't do. The teacher that was there, was helping in the cafeteria and a student just ran on her, and then, the student and the mother try to make charges against her, like she was a sex offender or something like that, or she was, you know improperly pushing or touching a student and, I know she's not like that. So, I was really afraid for my life, since I was really afraid for what will happen. Then, in summer before starting school, while working for the curriculum, there was the other teacher that used to work in the position that I was going to work. She also started telling me like a lot of things about this school and, that she actually wanted to change and she finally got a letter of recommendation from the principal. She told me that there was not discipline and the students were very disrespectful. I did everything during summer to go to another school, but, they made me stay there. When there I meet with the principal, and I told him, the information that I received, and that I was worried. He told me that it wasn't truth, etc. While in the Foreign Language workshop that year, the same teacher that was working in the curriculum, told me and the other new teacher the same information. After meeting the students, a couple of weeks later, I went to FLAVA and, the new teacher cover for one of my blocks. That year I had almost 200 students counting my night classes. So, the new teacher had to call the Dean because the students' behavior was terrible. When I got back, I found pencils on the roof. So, we started to relate what the other teacher told us and, what we started to see. Soon the parents started to be really rude and were requesting us not to teach the class in Spanish. I had a meeting with a parent about the student discipline referral and, they said that I was racist, that I didn't worked properly with the student before calling the Dean and, then practically kick me out of the office (he opened the door and started to yell me to leave). One of the teacher in the meeting was supportive with the parent, the Special Ed, about that I didn't work with the student behavior. That after there was a warning in an official documents about how the parents will support the child's behavior. I don't know if the Dean was in shock, but, nobody did anything to stop the parents to do what they did. After that my coworker also had a similar situation, this time by phone. She was crying and we agreed to meet with Suzette, the Foreign Language supervisor. We told our supervisor what was happening, we didn't have immediate feedback. After that the other teacher resigned saying that her mother was sick and was going to Colombia to live. A month later, I found that she was working in another school very close to the area.
