  • I am legal guardian of elderly aunt who lives in Florida
    I am legal guardian of elderly aunt who lives in Florida state. I live in NYC and Europe and am currently in FL to attend to my aunts needs. She was declared with dementia as well. For some reason hospice where she resides asked State to appoint the legal guardian.
    State of Florida set the date where guardian is to be appointed (did not happened yet). How can I stop this from happening. Also I am told that her house (she willed it to my underage son) would be in total care of legal guardian.
    please help as we are devastated by possibility of loosig aunt ( she wants to move to Europe to be cared for by her brother) as well as assets.

    I used my car as collateral and you obtain collision insurance and then have an accident, what is the typical obligation of the finance company? The accident was not my fault and I accepted a settlement pay-off from the drivers insurance company. I am okay with the settlement, but how should the pay-off be handled between the driver's insurance company and the finance company. Thank you.

    I am currently in the middle of a divorce case, and am not seeking representation, my soon to be x and I agreed on everything, but now I am getting a bad feeling. We are scheduled a court date, and I have not seen any actual divorce papers. I feel like I am walking into this blind, but trusting my soon to be X. I know ive been told to get a lawyer, but I also know sincerely XXXXX XXXXX soon to be x wants this over, and said that that is what she has told her lawyer. Her lawyer told her that we will go in front of a referee to discuss the proposals made by each side, and as long as we agree things will move forward and we could sign papers that day. My problem is that if we agree, and her lawyer has copies of both proposals and they are in agreeance, why do we have to go in front of a referee? and also can a judge overrule our agreement, or can a referee overrule our agreement and order amendments to it that we would legally have to adhere to, even though we dont consent?
