The problem is that he had leased an apartment for a 13-month period, and it has only been 7 months, so, since he will not be living in the apartment any longer, he wants to end the contract early. The landlord was notified, and the contract does not include a penalty clause for early termination. The landlord's representative is asking my nephew to pay for the month of April even though my nephew is scheduled to go home next week and is already leaving the one-month security deposit to the landlord.
