Question.. My father passed away two summers ago, I was 19.
My father passed away two summers ago, I was 19. I was told that he had a pneumonia that could not be treated, I was told the pneumonia was killing his organs and thats why he was dying. I visited him two days before his passing when I learned all of this, my grandmother (his power of attorney) was there, she didn't say much but after I spent the night with my dad in the hospital I had to go back to school. I was told by all the nurses taking care of him that if I called I would get the status of his pain, everything however when I called on a Wednesday to check in I asked to know how he was doing. They said theycouldnt give me any information after every question I asked, I asked.."How is he doing?" "Is he in pain?" "can you tell me if he's okay?" "can you tell me if he's alive or if he passed?" they said the same thing every time and then when I asked if he passed they finally said that he passed, I asked if he was comfortable, if people were with him, what time was it at? they didn't tell me anything. I finally saw his death certificate and pneumonia is not anywhere on it. He had a treatable infection, a urinary tract infection with sepsis, meaning, they never treated his infection and let it lead to his death and then I was lied to. Do I have any grounds to sue? After my fathers death my grandmother changed her numbers, she won't answer and phone calls or anything and I know its because she lied to me about his death also. … read more
