Im a disabled vet, who was medically retired back in '06.
im a disabled vet, who was medically retired back in '06. I've been working as a civilian since then and not had major issues until last Oct. I've received only great reviews as Active Duty and good as civilian, including several annual awards. However, I was injured before the Air Force, during my enlisted time in the Army. My injury healed, but then snuck back into my life back in 2003 and got progressively worse forcing my medical retirement in Dec '06.I became a civilian back in 2007 and worked with my supervisors to get the most out of me by working at home. In all honesty, working from home takes the right combination of person and supervisor. The pain meds made me apathetic and my supervisor rarely thought of me. That supervisor is now the deputy Civil Engineer and apparently holds a personal grudge from that period.I've been working back in the office since 2013, but I didn't have an issue until Oct 2016, when my new "supervisor" and flight chief came in to the picture. From day-five of knowing he was my "supervisor", I received bad interim feedback, (based on my core doc from my previous position), and several formal counselings, despite work that was considered good, with one exception, (supervisor's fault, I took the blame). In addition, a leave policy, (which was that I had to call in my leave requests until I talked to him), was created only for me. After 3 months of formal counseling and me complaining to his "supervisor", it started getting better. A couple months later, I received a notice of suspension from his "supervisor".As it turned out, my "supervisor" was not my supervisor at all, but my team lead. So all the evidence for this suspension notice was based off of bad policies created by someone who didn't have the authority to create or inforce them.I didn't seek your assistance then, since this was a poorly written suspension notice, with flaws all over it. So I wrote and submitted my rebuttal, fully expecting it to be thrown out. It was two weeks ago, (20 July), when I received the letter, stating that I would be suspended last week. Its obvious that my old supervisor, who is now the deputy BCE had no interest in reading my rebuttal or looking at the facts whatsoever. Is this something you can help with, since this will be on my permanent record? Also, I'm now seeking retirement because I can't work in this place anymore. I feel so much animosity and the condition I have had a procedure postponed due to this place. These people have no morale character, since none of them would ever even ask my side and truly try to understand. I've submitted EO complaints, but none have been taken seriously. … read more
