I need to change my direct deposit for my ssi to my new checking account # as I had to close my old account # because my computer was hacked. How will I do this?
JA: What state are you in? It matters because laws vary by location.

Customer: the bank & credit cards & all have been notified except for social security office.

  2. Contacting your bank, credit union or savings and loan association who will then happily walk you through the steps; or
  3. Calling Social Security at 1-***-***-**** (TTY 1-***-***-****) who will then do this for you via the telephone.
