Customer Question

Hi, I'm chatting with someone who wants to wire me money with no strings attached and I'd like to know whether you think there is a problem with my doing that
JA: What state are you in? It matters because laws vary by location.
Customer: CA
JA: Has anything been filed or reported?
Customer: No
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: It's supposedly money he has earned and he wants me to make charitable contributions in his name with the money. Oh, and he wants to send the money onto my credit card

Thank you for your question.

This is a common scam, the person wants your bank account number and routing number and credit card number, and it would be foolish to give that out. If someone wants to send you money they can mail a check or send it via PayPal.

I hope this information is helpful.
