Customer Question

just recently while staying in san francisco at our seldom used town house, i noticed
a postal notice to pick up a letter from superior court , which had to be signed for.
after signing for it, i realized it was for my son, as a small claims court action,
from a incident evidently three or four year ago.
What are my legal obligations, now i have signed for the document??
Neither my family or my son live in california and currently live in Arizonia.
we no longer have any active mail from california.
is there any time limit on small claims actions from california

Hello there --

Because you signed for the document you have legally accepted service of process on the matter. Is there an actual court or hearing date set forth in the paperwork or are they just seeking a written answer at this point?
