Hello there --

The answer to your question depends upon what the statute says which changed the law to make your property non compliant (and thus "grandfathered") AND what type of property that it is. Most commercial properties and properties where there are more than 4 rental units are required to comply with many ADA requirements if there is a significant remodeling done to the property. You would have to tell me more about the property and what you want to do (why has this issue come up) before I can give you a more definitive answer on this matter. Your county and state also matters.
