I would like to sue my lawyer for hardship. Is this

Customer Question

I would like to sue my lawyer for hardship. Is this possible? He has not represented me for ten years. However I found out that he has done some unethical thing.
JA: Because laws vary from place to place, can you tell me what state this is in?
Customer: New York
JA: Have you talked to a lawyer yet?
Customer: A long time ago and he told me to get my files but this later would not give them to me. I feel that he did this because my files show his lack of proper legal representation.
JA: Anything else you think the lawyer should know?
Customer: My father was murdered and this lawyer I trusted to advise me with my finances and adhere to the statute of limitations.

I am sorry to hear this.

Have you made a written demand for your files?

Do you think the lawyer committed malpractice? If so, why?

Which County is this in?
