Hello and thank you for contacting us. This is Dwayne B. and I’m an expert here and looking forward to assisting you today. If at any point any of my answers aren’t clear please don’t hesitate to ask for clarification. Also, I can only answer the questions you specifically ask and based on the facts that you give so please be sure that you ask the questions you want to ask and provide all necessary facts. Likely the reason nobody has picked up is because there is no easy (or 100% right) way to answer this and customers sometimes get mad if we can't give them good news.
However, I don't like to see customers waiting so I will see if I can help as much as possible.
First, you can't file a class action on behalf of yourself or anyone else. That is because it would be illegal since you would be practicing law without a license.
This means that your boyfriend can file a lawsuit on his own behalf, but he can't file a class action lawsuit.
Now, knowing that, would you still like the rules for a class action suit and, if so, state or federal? Or is there a different question you would like to ask?
