Washington State does have "common law marriages" - however, if a couple were to be cohabitating in another state that did recognize common law marriages for the requisite time period in that state, and they later moved to WA, then WA would recognize that marriage.

So, no length of cohabitation will create a marriage in WA, you must actually go and get a marriage license, have a valid ceremony, and record it with the county.
