Is is ethical attorney to demand advance payment on an

Customer Question

Is is ethical for an attorney to demand advance payment on an existing case and if the fees are not paid( there were less than$3000 owed to him) he would cancel a court date two days hence that the client had waited a year for. Is itch ethical for the same attorney to demand the clients $50,000 presidential Rolex watch as collateral?
This seems that the right to the legal system is being bargained by the attorney.

Good afternoon. What does the retainer agreement state in regard to fees and when they will be paid? Also, what is the basis for which the fees are not able to be paid? Is the agreement that the attorney would bill for the work done on the case and then you would need to pay within X days?
