My husband was on Mass Health 21/2 years. He was also 100%

Customer Question

My husband was on Mass Health for about 21/2 years. He was also 100% service connected disabled. He entered the VA nursing home in Bedford MA in 2012 and passed Sept in 2013. Nine months later I got a bill from Mass Health for $68,000. I paid a monthly premium to mass health the whole time was my husband was on it. Money was also taken out of his SS every month for medicare. In their mass health they recoup monies for long term nursing home care. Which he was not in. VA nursing home was free as he was 100% service connected. How do I go about this.

I am sorry for this dilemma.

YOu mention he was in a VA home...did Mass Health pay for this? If not who paid for the VA home?
