Customer Question

I live in Kansas and I was wondering if there is a statute of limitations on inheritance to contest a will

Thank you for your question. Please permit me to assist you with your concerns. In Kansas, there are a few different deadlines for when an heir or beneficiary may contest a will. Generally only an heir can contest, and the person loses the right to contest after four months have passed from the date of first publication of notice to creditors. This can be shortened to 30 days if the person knew or reasonably should have known of the notice. And if the court orders enforcement, then the appeal to enforcement is 30 days.
