We signed with a lawyer to represent us in a personal injury

Customer Question

We signed with a lawyer to represent us in a personal injury case. We signed a contract with him in January, 2015. We understand that he will get 33 1/3% of the settlement at the time of the award.
A few questions: Can we discontinue this contract with him if we are not satisfied with the work? Are we obligated to pay him for services rendered to date?

Hello. My name is ***** ***** I will be happy to answer your question.
I am sorry to hear about this unfortunate situation.
Does the retainer agreement with the lawyer stipulate that the client can terminate their agreement if the client is unhappy with the services performed?

We do not provide any type of legal advice or legal service, as this service is limited to general answers to customer's questions.
Do you have a copy of your retainer agreement and did you review it for any type of termination clauses?
