Can a chiropractic doctor be charged with assault if they didnt

This answer was rated:

Can a chiropractic doctor be charged with assault if they didn't get written consent to break you back? They sure have too many loopholes for malpractice.

Thank you for your question. Please permit me to assist you with your concerns.

To answer your question, if parties did not grant consent to the doctor, that by itself may be considered a 'medical battery', which is a civil claim for unconsented and unauthorized medical touching. Similarly it may be considered criminal assault if the doctor did not consensually touch the person, and that person never agreed to being touched. That, however, is very unlikely--while it is possible for the doctor to be charged, most police departments won't do it and consider it more of a civil matter than a criminal one.

Good luck.
