My 14 year old daughter has long standing psychiatric disabilities,

Customer Question

My 14 year old daughter has long standing psychiatric disabilities, and I recently traveled with her to meet a woman that professionally trains Psychiatric Service Dogs. My daughter is currently hospitalized. I went to pick up her dog this past weekend, and I was told by the hospital administration that the dog will not be allowed visitation with her because she does not have a long term relationship with him. This hospital (in Wisconsin) utilizes therapy dogs. I have prescriptions for this dog from her long term therapist and psychiatrist, and this dog has completed his training and is certified by a master handler with 20 years experience in training service dogs. I feel her rights to have her dog present are being violated under the ADA act that enforces where a service dog must be permitted. This hospital does utilize therapy dogs.
