IS sending a large amont of u.s. currency in the mail illgal
Dear JACUSTOMER - It is not illegal to send cash through the mail. It is illegal to send cash for illegal purposes such as gambling operations or to buy drugs etc but simply send cash is not illegal. Sending cash through the mail is always a bad idea since if it is lost it cannot be replaced but that doesn't make it illegal.

please answer the question in reference to federal laws concerning forfeiture action of the u.s. postal service violation 21 usc 841 et seq. forfeiture authority and the following additonal federal laws and regulations govern a forfeiture action 19 usc $$1602-1621 and39 cfr $233.7

I will opt out. Your question was whether it is illegal to send cash and did not include any references to forfeiture which is a separate issue than simply sending money.
Your first question in regard to 21 USC 841 depends on the circumstances. If the money is linked to the possession, sale or manufacture of narcotics, then it can be seized. Further, sending drug money through the mail would expose everyone involved to a racketering claim under RICO.

If there is no criminal activity linked to the money, then it will not result in a forfeiture.
