I own my own condo and I share space with my X Wife who is on medicaid and also gets $ 23 a month in food stamps. My X pays me rent and pays part of the utilities.
We have been divorced for 2 years before she moved in with me.
She was having a very hard time making it on her own becuase of high rent and becuase she is on disability she can't work.
Would she have to report me as part of her household for mediciad and food stamp purposes?
Could her living under the same roof with me jepordize her medicaid and food stamps.
Am I considered a member of her household?
We have seperate banking and seperate food bills and seperate everything.

Thank you for your question. Fortunately, since your ex-wife is your tenant and pays rent, you are not considered within the same "household" for medicaid and foodstamps purposes. This only applies to family members living in the same house.
