My 18 year old son was pulled over on a raft on the illinois

Resolved Question:

My 18 year old son was pulled over on a raft on the illinois river and written a ticket for possession of a minor,no blood or breath test taken. They just took the beer. The fine is written 500., when he goes to court does he have to pay the full amount?

Your son will most likely have to pay the ticket. However, your son has the right to plead not guilty, or to ask the prosecutor to reduce the fine, or allow for a payment plan. The court will give him time to pay it out if he doesn't have the money right then and there.

There is also the possibility of getting the ticket dismissed if you plead not guilty and go to trial and the police officer doesn't show up to give evidence.

Best of luck,
