Worker's compensation is better for the short term -- up to about 5 years because you 60% of your gross pay on a weekly basis. SSD will only pay you about $1200 - $1500 per MONTH. However, as I said the WC lasts for about 5 years and then you are expected to take a small settlement and if you are still disabled you can try to get the SSD -- which then can last as long as the rest of your life if your problems last that long.
