When it comes to these types of constitutional issues these cases are use to actually make precedence. Our law does not ignore precedence, what they are arguing is that there is good cause to change the precedent. It is not that we do not care, there are plenty of people fighting on BOTH sides of the issue. Every state that has had a constitutional amendment proposed has overwhelmingly voted to make such marriages against state constitutions
, but it seems to be the moron politicians we keep electing who think they know better than us about what is better for us and they do what the loudest lobbyists will tell them to do.
