Since it has been only 2 years since the discharge in Bankruptcy, it will still appear on your credit report. You would probably be given a loan, but at a higher interest rate than the present going rate.

I personally do not agree with this because if the borrower has already filed bankruptcy, he cannot again file for another 5 years after the discharge in Bankruptcy, so the lender should feel more secure, unless it is to be paid back in a longer term during which the borrower could again file another Petition in Bankruptcy.

Try applying for a term shorter than that and argue that you would not be able to file for bankruptcy and they have a better chance of being repaid.

so once the chapter 13 is discharged, do it stay on your credit report for 7 seven years from the filing date

Lawyer: Andrea, Esq., Attorney replied 8 years ago

Thank you for accepting my Answer, I greatly appreciate it.

The date used for counting the years is the date of the final discharge in Bankruptcy, not when the Petition was filed.
