hi is it legal to charge someone for a job that was by acendent mess up i was fixing my misstake and when i was half way done they decided to bay a new motor with out hear the motor i fix

Sorry to hear of your problem.

If you are not under an employment contract of some sort and are an at will employee your employment may be terminated for any lawful reason. By lawful I mean any reason that is non-discriminatory (if you are in a protected class) or otherwise covered by statute or regulation.

The situation you describe does not appear to fall into those exceptions.

They may sue you to collect their damages if they can prove your negligence was the cause of the loss, but I would imagine it would be less of a hassle for your employer to put a claim in to their insurer for the damages.
