You are governed by the terms of your promissory note and/or contract of sale. if these documents are silent to how long, then the dealer is given a "reasonable" amount of time. Reasonable is not a set date but rather more than 3 days and less than 30 days. If you have concern the dealer can not find financing for a vehicle then I suggest you speak candidly with the dealer and ask them to either take the car back now or guarantee they will hold the note/loan if they can not find an outside lender.
