Customer Question

Unfortunately the answer provided by the State Atty Office is correct. Once charges of domestic violence are filed you become a witness and the choice is not yours to make if you wish the prosecute or drop the charges. I the abuse never happened then I suggest that you speak with a local attorney prior to attempting to get the charges dismissed by recanting (taking back the original statement) so that youre not charged with a crime such as falsely reporting a crime.

I guess I would need to consult with a lawyer. I am in no position to ruin someone's life over a misunderstanding, and I would expect the same from him. Thanks for your advice!
